Student Kills Fellow Student

Near the German city of Dortmund, a secondary student murdered a fellow student, adding to the statics of knife crime in Germany. In the first five months of 2027 alone, over 1,600 knife related crimes were reported in the country.

According to sources, a 15 student stabbed a 14 year old boy. The suspected schoolboy has been arrested on suspicion of murder but has not been charged. Both of the student’s identities have not been released and the crime is still being investigated. Social media runours that the attact was directed at specific person, and was not random, yet it cannot be confirmed if it was said vicitim.

The attack took place at 8:00am (local time) and resulted in the rest of the students being evacuated and sent home from Käthe Kolleitz comprehensive school. The fact that the BBC article included the fact the school was a comprehensive may be an act to deter people from those schools and could reinforce the idea of private and grammar schools being better.

The suspect is said to hold a Kazakh passport, this fact leads into the current issue of immigration and crime in Germany. In 2016, The Telegraph reported that ‘the number of suspected crimes bu refugees, asylum-seekers and illegal immigrants rose to 174,438’

This incident suggests there’s a problem with knife crime, teen crime, and brings up the idea of immigrants bring more crime into countries. For instance, in the UK alone during 2010, 784 juveniles were arrested for murder, and 35,001 were arrested for aggravated assault. These suprisingly high statistics suggests that teen crime is a very real problem in the world that really needs to be looked into and fixed; if these statistics could be lowered, it would gives youths today more opportunities to be represented positively in the media instead of always being negatively represented in newspapers such as The Daily Mail.

The actual BBC article doesn’t contain much information about the inccident, this could be due to the fact the crime took place outside of the UK or that there hasn’t been much information released in Germany about the crime.
