Barnardos' advert 'the row' used shock tactics with the audience witnessing a child character being exposed to a brutal fight between his parents

Dasani's water advert displays the first level of Maslow's hierarchy of needs, physiological. The advert displays a main image of a man pouring water over his face, with the tagline 'can't live without it'.

Specsavers uses a lot of intertextuality in their adverts, one specific example of this is their advert which featured Postman Pat.

6. Find as many different uses for music in adverts as you can
Music can be used in adverts for many different reasons; structural, memorability, entertainment (to capture and engage the target audience), and to help create the effect of the adverts and to help the decoding of the message.
